Nice
Nice, the capital of the Côte d’Azur is a wonderful French Riviera city and a popular tourist destination because of its Aristocratic architecture, winding streets, shops, high art, fine dining and the numerous private and public beaches along the lively and fascinating Promenade des Anglais.
There are countless tings to see and do in Nice but the Cours Selaya Flower market is a must-see. This is also one of the main neighbourhoods for dining – especially seafood, with several cafés lining the outdoor market. Right next to the market you will find the Old Nice quarter with its labyrinth of narrow streets, tall houses and colourful squares with shops selling antiques and local specialities.
Shopping is a key activity in Nice, whether in the boutiques in the Pedestrian Zone or at the markets. Once you have finished your shopping, you could spend the rest of the day doing anything from swimming, waterskiing, and roller skating at Promenade des Anglais to sun bathing. The evening you could spend at having a fine dining or go to the opera, ballet or theatre. Alternatively, you could take part in the city’s vibrant nightlife at along the Promenade des Anglais.
One of the major events in Nice is the international Carnival, held in the second half of February. The whole city celebrates the festivities when the decorated vehicles and dancing people pass through the town.
